While The VillaVision Wellness & Retreat Center is being built out to its full mission and vision, the August 2022 Grand Opening was begin with the core of the VillaVision – Breakthrough work with Dr. Karen.  

Dr. Karen has been in the field of executive and personal leadership development and coaching for over 30 years.  She has positively impacted the lives of hundreds-of-thousands of people around the world, both within organizations and in one-on-one coaching.

In 2009, Dr. Karen opened her private practice to impact more people on her own terms.

With the opening of The VillaVision, she invites clients into her beautiful Home Office where she has had the pleasure of breaking through life’s challenges and achieving life’s successes since she opened her private practice in 2009.

Phase 2 - The Villa 'Ohana Hale

Welcome to the Villa 'Ohana Hale (Family Home)!

Let the renovated 1940s Family Home whisk you away from everyday life to a place of peace and harmony.

As you enter the beautiful bright pink door, you’ll step onto the carefully laid tile of earthy browns mixed with swirls of cobalt blue.  

From the friendly artistic dragon on the wall to the double doors that entice you to venture beyond, your opportunities awaits. The Opening of The Villa 'Ohana Hale opened in February 2023 in time for the VillaVision's first Take Back Your Life Retreat Mastermind.  

It includes onsite accommodations for visiting Breakthrough Client overnight stay and retreat guests. The double-doors of The Villa Hale beckon you to venture beyond … to the Tranquil Garden Sanctuary.

The Villa 'Ohana Hale backyard is truly a garden sanctuary, a spiritual place of peace and tranquility. It was once the loving hobby of it’s spiritual owner, Laura Peterson, and now the place of rest and relaxation.

Stop out into the yard nicely shaded by the numerous trees. Ignite your senses.  Sit by the koi pond to listen to the water gently fall on the rocks and watch the koi gracefully swim below.

Walk the labyrinth path in the upper garden made from broken pottery of the original land owner and prominent teacher. Stop and take a nap at any of the little alcoves hidden throughout the tranquil garden.

Opened February 2023 with further work to be completed on the Garden Sanctuary by Summer 2023.

Phase 3 - The Gallery & Studio 

 First opening in 1952 as The Studio of Ceramic Arts, this 3,000 square foot facility has been the home for numerous pottery and ceramic artists for more than 75 years.  It was the first satellite facility for the Grossmont Adults School.  

Step, first, into the gallery.

Step back in time to gather the history of the land since the 1940’s and the mission and visions of what The VillaVision is and will become. 

Next, step into the middle room.

This room is a place of gathering for group work, yoga, sound baths, breathwork, retreats, and other personal development and healing modalities lead by Dr. Karen and her visiting practitioners.  

Let this be a place of learning, healing, grounding, relaxation, and restoration.  

Next, step down into the Wheel Room!

Let this be a place of PLAY! From art therapy, retreat activities, etc., this is an open space for creativity and play.  

Let your sense be free to explore what awaits you.

Next, venture out to the facilities that are home to healing practitioners and state of the art equipment to heal the body.  This may include reiki and massage as well as red light therapy and other forms of energy healing work.

Phase 4 - Retreat Hosting

Welcome to the Villa 'Ohana Hale (Family Home)!

 The VillaVision hosted it's first retreat, the Take Back Your Life Retreat Mastermind, in the main home in February 2023.  However, Phase 4 gives opportunity to meet the needs of others seeking retreat hosting opportunities in beautify San Diego.  

 The back land was the home of the artist and owner's love for gardening.  This 2+ acres of The VillaVision property provides fertile ground for community gardening and retreat hosting.  

The well provides water to all The VillaVision facilities as well as continual nourishment to the garden’s plentiful fruits and vegetables.  

In addition to The Villa 'Ohana Hale (Family Home), there are additional opportunities for visitors to stay onsite.

Two family cottages perfect opportunity to continue to stay close to all that the VillaVision has to offer as well as proposed plans for two yurts.

These facilities are perfect for renting individually, or for housing retreat attendees.
